Plans, hours, minutes and how they are used
Our price-per-hour refers to the rate multiplied by the length of media of the file uploaded to our system to transcribe. For example, if you have a 5-hour-per-month plan and provide Konch with an audio file that is 30 minutes long, the total time left in your account after transcription will be 270 minutes (or 4.5 hours).
We use the term "Draft" to denote the use of A.I. to transcribe the audio, as compared to our "Precision" service that takes the A.I. results and adds a human layer to "polish" the final output (i.e. increase accuracy). Please note, prices for Precision and Draft are subject to change depending on your commitment (e.g. pay-as-you-go, monthly, or yearly). Draft prices are consistent across languages, whereas Precision rates differ based on language.
Here is the breakdown of how our flexible plans and subscriptions work:
Monthly Subscriptions
- The monthly subscription allows 5-hour packages, each month, locked in each month at the rate shown here https://app.konch.ai/plans.
- Every month the meter resets. Meaning, if you use 8 hours one month on a 10-hour per-month subscription, you will have 2 hours remaining for that month.
- Once the next month starts, you will reset to 10 hours for the month no matter how many hours were used the previous month.
- Any minutes used over the subscription are charged at the "Pay as you go" (PAYG) rate. Meaning if you get a 10-hour-per-month subscription and use 11 hours, 10 hours would be covered (prepaid) and 1 hour will be additionally charged at the current PAYG rate.
- For Precision subscriptions, the meter for Precision (i.e. human polished) is based on an aggregate of "minutes * rate". For example, if the rate of English polish is $1 per minute, and French is $2 per minute, and there are 10 minutes of English, and 20 minutes of French submitted. Then, the aggregate meter would be: 1*10 + 2*20 for a total of 50 "minutes" subtracted from your plan.
Alternatively, you can sign up for our Yearly plan:
Yearly Subscriptions
- Pay 12 months upfront.
- The cycle for a yearly subscription is annual. If you have a 120-hour plan, you can use any of the minutes at any time throughout the year.
- At the end of the year the hours, you have reset. In this example, you would reset to 120 hours.
Pay-as-you-go
If you are unsure about which subscription you want to purchase you can skip it. Avoid a subscription altogether. Once you add a credit card you will be charged only when you upload a new transcript. https://help.konch.ai/article/56-pay-as-you-go-pricing-with-no-commitment
